Contact your state government and tell them they need to support mental health.
About 1 in 5 adults in the United States experiences mental illness. That’s 46.8 million people. On average, the delay between the onset of symptoms and treatment is 11 years. We need to end the stigma of mental illness. We need to make seeking help easier and more accessible. That’s what NYC Well is doing in New York City. The organization provides free, confidential support and crisis intervention to improve mental health. It’s run on behalf of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The program offers help any time of the day, every day of the year.
